Water storage tanks are a vital resource in any water distribution network to manage peak flow requirements and ensure water is readily available for use.

From small domestic systems to large water storage tanks, these play an important part in water provision. In order to maintain a good supply of water quality and comply with local & government water hygiene regulations, it is essential that these tanks are regularly inspected, cleaned & disinfectant.

Over time debris and other contaminants including biofilms will build up within the tank and provide a breeding ground for potentially harmful bacteria and if left unchecked these can pose a high risk to users of the water.

Regular Cleaning & Disinfection of your cold-water storage facilities are a smart preventative measure to ensure:

! Your water supply is clean, hygienic and free from visible contaminants.
! Your tank is properly managed to reduce the risk of exposure to legionella bacteria. ! Your tank and its cover are fit for purpose and doesn’t need replacement.

Use Biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.

Process:

Water Tank must be drained and physically cleaned to remove all contaminates and biofilm, ensure clean

Application:

Prepare the disinfection solution as described, use a sprayer or manually wash making sure ALL the surfaces of tank come in contact with the solution.
After a 15 minute contact time, rinse tank surfaces with plenty of water and remove any remaining sullage from the tank.

NOTE:

Spray or wash all surface areas of the tank.
Make sure all surface areas and parts of tank come in contact with the solution.

Wait 15 minutes, rinse tank surfaces again

ADVICE: Rinse tank with plenty of water to remove all sullage and traces of any detergent if used in the cleaning stage. Then apply disinfectant.

Tested to BS EN 1276: 2009 bacterial standards on the following strains

Legionella - 99.999% within 5 minutes

Staphylococcus aureus – 99.999% within 5 minutes                                                                                                  

Escherichia coli – 99.997% within 5 minutes                                                                                                            

Pseudomonas aeruginosa – 99.994% within 5 minutes
