Dalle khursani chilli from Northeast India, is a GI tagged product from the state of Sikkim. Grown in the foothills of the Himalayas in Nepal and in Indian state Sikkim, this chili is gaining popularity among the chili lovers around the world.
Also called Akabare Khursani chili in native language and Red Cherry pepper , it has got SHU level of 200000 – 350000 units, which is considered very hot in the Scoville heat scale. Its heat can be compared to Habanero pepper , but can me more lethal in actual.
But unlike other hotter chili peppers like ghost peppers, Dalle khursani chilies has got an amazing flavour and wonderful aroma, that won’t burn your lips in spite of its heat content. It does not gives the aftermath burning hazards like other hot peppers , that is why it is very popular among the chili heads.
It is round in shape, and green in its early stages, and turns red when ripe. That’s why it is also called Red Cherry Pepper. Due to it’s thick skin, this pepper is ideal for making pickles.
