A wide range of workings can be made including pipe and tube ends, pipe outside diameter surfaces, joint flange surfaces, etc. and preparation and centering are very easy because the facing head is freely movable to fit the part of the material to be cut.
They are good at working pipe end facing for medium or small diameter pipe.
