4.5 micron BOPET is the specialist base for thermal transfer ribbons. At this gauge the film must combine extreme tensile strength with a perfectly smooth surface, because every gel or scratch shows up as a print defect in the finished ribbon. 3.8-4.55 micron, 500-1000 mm, tight thickness tolerance and controlled roughness.
