Foam Pump Proportional System
The foam pump proportioning system is the unit to supply foam solution for foam system. It is especially applicable to petrochemical enterprises, oil depots, wharfs and drilling platforms. The system mainly consists of atmospheric foam tank, foam pump, dynamic unit, balance valve, foam proportioner, control valves and control system.
When a fire happens, water pump and foam pump will be started. The pressure of water and foam solution will be feed back to balance valve, so balance valve will adjust its opening degree to reach dynamic equilibrium. Foam solution and pressurized water will mix in foam proportioner to form foam solution. If the pressure and flow from water inlet are unstable, balance valve will adjust the amout of foam concentrate to reach dynamic equilibrium to guarantee an accurate mixing ratio. Atmospheric foam tank can be feed even when the unit is under operating, which prolongs the working time.
The unit can be divided into motor drive, water turbine drive, diesel drive or the combination of two of the dynamic according to the dynamic source of foam pump.
Water Turbine Drive
The water turbine drive foam pump proportioning system rely on a water turbine to drive the foam pump. While, the water turbine is driven by pressurized water. So there is no other dynamic needed as long as pressuried water.
