Fractionation Units are core hydrocarbon separation process equipment in refinery crude distillation, natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery, LPG fractionation, and petrochemical processing operations. As a specialist process equipment fabricator and installation contractor, we deliver complete fractionation column packages including tall column vessel fabrication, internal tray and packing assemblies, reboiler and overhead condenser connections, and associated structural support systems for oil and gas and petrochemical facility applications.
Our fractionation unit packages encompass the fabrication of distillation and fractionation columns in diameters and heights appropriate for the separation duty, including atmospheric crude distillation units (CDU), vacuum distillation units (VDU), depropaniser and debutaniser columns, NGL fractionation trains (deethaniser, depropaniser, debutaniser, natural gasoline stabiliser), and LPG splitter columns. Column vessels are fabricated in carbon steel, low-alloy steel, or stainless steel clad as required by the process fluid corrosivity, temperature, and pressure conditions.
Column internals including valve trays, sieve trays, bubble cap trays, structured packing (Sulzer, Koch-Glitsch or equivalent), random packing, liquid distributors, chimney trays, structured packing support grids, and demister pads are fabricated and installed with precision alignment to column centre line and specified tray spacing. Internal inspection after tray installation verifies tray levelness, downcomer clearances, and seal pan integrity before column closure.
Structural support systems for tall columns include skirt foundations with anchor bolt rings, wind girder assemblies, ladder and platform systems at access manholes and instrument connections, and davit arm arrangements for manway cover and tray section removal. Overhead condenser and reboiler piping connections, reflux drum nozzle orientations, and feed and draw nozzle positions are fabricated to isometric drawings verified against the process data sheet.
Applications include crude oil atmospheric and vacuum distillation, NGL extraction and fractionation at gas processing plants, refinery product separation including naphtha stabilisation, LPG production and splitting, and petrochemical feedstock fractionation in ethylene, propylene, and aromatics complexes.
All fabrication and installation comply with ASME Section VIII pressure vessel codes, applicable API design standards, ASME B31.3 for connected process piping, ISO 9001 quality management, and project-specific QA/QC requirements.
