We have finally come across some true Ceremonial Grade Organic Matcha and we named this blend HARUNA. Organic Matcha requires a lot more effort to be produced, especially when the strict standards that qualify a grade worth of a tea Ceremony have to be met.
HARUNA is produced using only the youngest and most tender hand-picked leaves of tea trees that have been shade grown for at least 20 days prior to the first harvest of the season, usually around April/May.
HARUNA is a great daily choice for those who would like to enjoy an Organic option of Ceremonial grade Matcha brewed hot or cold, as an energising drink thanks to its mild and slow release caffeine content as well as a heavy load of Antioxidants.
Made from 100% stone ground green tea leaves grown exclusively in the Kagoshima region, known to be one of the best area for the production of Organic Matcha green tea in Japan.
HARUNA presents itself in a bright emerald green colour, full bodied with rich earthy notes and a light Umami aftertaste. This grade is ideal to be enjoyed in Usu-Cha style (thin Matcha) but it also makes delicious Coldbrew Iced Matcha.
We recommend to prepare this Matcha using our Handcrafted Bamboo Whisk for better aeration of the tea resulting in a creamy texture.
