A well balanced circuit provides environments with the right comfort level, prevents pumps from working far from design conditions and in low efficiency and reduces problems linked to noise caused by the high speed of heat transfer fluid.

Therefore to balance a system, specific devices which control the flow rate of the fluid must be placed along the circuits, introducing appropriate pressure drops on the single branches to guarantee the correct flow rate to the individual heating bodies.
