This air analyser collects micro-organisms transported in the air for the quantitative measurement of contamination from bioaerosols, in both internal and external environments. The air is aspirated using a removable head through a series of orifices of 1mm diameter at a flow rate of 100 l/min.
All the micro-organisms are gathered on the agar surface of a plaque which is extracted, incubated and subsequently the colonies that have grown thereupon are counted. The resulting count, together with the volume of air sampled, is used to calculate the number of colony-forming units (CFU’s) per cubic metre of air.
