Rice of the Great Lakes of Canada
Low in fats and rich in fibre, protein, minerals and vitamins.
Wild rice is technically not a rice but a water-grass seed. Wild rice is often called the Caviar of Grains. Wild rice is indigenous to the Great lakes region, Wisconsin, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, Canada. It is low in fats and rich in fibre, protein, minerals and vitamins. Wild rice is ideal for cooking on its own or blended with other rice.
Cooking time is between 30 and 40 minutes (the rice is cooked when at least half of the seeds have burst). If cooked with other rice, cooking time is 20 minutes.
